Recycled Filling Material

Soda-lime Glass

 Dennert Poraver GmbH engineers have developed a production process to produce a highly versatile filling material from recycled glass. In the ball mills of the Poraver factory in Postbauer-Heng, waste glass pieces are ground down into glass powder particles.

The average size of the prepared glass powder particle is only 10 μm. Numerous research projects showed that due to the additive Mikrover in the concrete an increased development of calcium carbonate could be proved during the hydratation of cement. This results in a higher density of the matrix and thus a greater resistance towards sulphuric attacks and an increase in compressive and bending tensile strength. At the same time it is said to improve the flow properties due to its rheological behaviour. This is especially wanted for the use for self consolidating concrete. Also other...
