RHEO Iceland 2009
The 3rd RILEM International Symposium on Rheology of Cement Suspensions was held within the “Week of Rheology” from the 19th to the 21st of August at the Grand Hotel, Reykjavik, Iceland. The event was devoted to the memory of late Prof. G. H. Tattersall, a physicist who broke new ground in the rheology of fresh concrete. Bounded with the 18th Nordic Rheology Conference on Suspension and Emulsions, it hosted 132 participants from 22 countries.
Since the two conferences shared the invited lectures and the participants had access to the both of the conferences, it gave them a unique opportunity to explore different specific subjects.
The opening speech was held by Katrín Jliusdóttir, Icelandic Minister of industry, Energy and Tourism, who greeted the participants and pointed out that the rheology is a key of successful implementation of concrete and contributes to environment protection.
