Construction start for plant in China

The German specialty chemicals group  Lanxess has now begun with the construction of a high-tech production plant for iron oxide red pigments in Ningbo, China (see BFT International 04/2013, page 7). The plant will start producing iron oxide red pigments for the global market beginning in the first quarter of 2015.

The investment for the new plant amounts to about EUR 55 million. The initial capacity is designed for 25,000 t annually. The installation of the first of a total of 2,000 piers for the foundation shows that the construction works proceed on schedule.
