Rationale

Investors increasingly focus on the verification of the sustainability of buildings. For this purpose, certification systems have been developed also in Germany, which provide a holistic view of the building. This approach considers the entire life cycle and assesses a large number of characteristics (criteria). The impact on the global environment is summarized in the “environmental quality” group of criteria, and analyzed both for the construction and use phases and the end of life of the building.
