New location, new concept, new possibilities
The Edwin-Scharff-Haus in Neu-Ulm hss been the venue for the BetonTage for four decades. The congress center on the bank of the Danube was the platform for the leading congress of the concrete and precast concrete industry. Up to 2,500 visitors were last counted during the congress of several days´ duration, and the accompanying exhibition has also continuously grown. Whereas in 2021 the BetonTage, owing to Corona, took place only digitally, a change in venue is now taking place this year. The 66th edition will be completely conducted in the Congress Center in the Maritim Hotel in Ulm. To allow for more planning security for the live event, the congress was moreover rescheduled to take place in summer. The BetonTage will therefore take place from 21 to 23 June 2022.
“We did not take the decision to change the venue of the event lightly. The modern, digital infrastructure, the generously spaced, light and airy facilities, sufficient parking possibilities as well as the available catering and hotel capacity were finally decisive. With the alternate date in June we are, moreover, sure that we will be able to conduct the BetonTage, as attended event, in the accustomed quality and in all probability without restrictions,” declared Dr. Ulrich Lotz, Managing Director of FBF Betondienst GmbH.
Sustainable building with concrete
“Sustainable building with concrete” is the motto of this year’s technical program. Resource-saving technologies in cement and concrete production and use of innovative concretes and concrete elements are playing a role in the lectures and presentations of the speakers from research and practice, the same as the use of innovative building and production processes and outstanding architectural and/or logistic solutions from the entire manufactured concrete products industry. All contributions in the plenary sessions as well as one selected podium per day will in addition be lifestreamed.
A daily update on current developments in concrete technology is available in the new Arena Forschung. Contributions on the manufacture of infra-lightweight concrete of wood-concrete composite construction or of carbon concrete are here just some examples. In the new Start-up Area, innovative founders of the concrete scene that look for interested market partners will present themselves for the first time.
The accompanying exhibition offers key stimuli as well. On 21 and 22 June 2022, selected companies will present their products and services in the Forum Innovation. During the Congress opening program, the awards for the best new developments will once again be presented to the recipients of the Innovation Prize of the Supplier Industry for Concrete Components jointly with the magazine BFT International. On this day, the Klaus-Dyckerhoff Prize for doctoral candidates and PostDocs will also be awarded for the first time. The award is endowed with a prize money of 10.000 euros and is conferred by the Dres. Edith und Klaus-Dyckerhoff Foundation.
