New polymer hydrophilic water bars developed
At Bauma 2013, Stekox GmbH Abdichtungstechnik presented a thermoplastic elastomer with the new polymer hydrophilic water bar Swellproof X1, which achieves a swelling capacity of up to 250 volume percent when in contact with water while featuring a high degree of tensile strength and elasticity. This new hydrophilic water bar - like Polyproof X1 which has already been successfully used – is primarily suited to seal the classical construction joint between two concrete sections, but can just as well be used in manhole and precast concrete construction as well as tunnel segment construction.
