Profound insight into Russia’s precast industry

After three years, the “All-Russia Conference of Concrete Manufacturers” has evolved into one of the most important trade events of the concrete and precast concrete industry in Russia. This is due to as simple as obvious reasons: The lectures are given by leading and progressive scientists, representatives of local and national construction organizations as well as experts from companies of the concrete and precast concrete industry, exclusively coming from Russian-speaking Eastern European countries; they are familiar with the framework conditions and the current performance requirements of the local concrete and precast concrete industry, and they analyze and report profoundly.

The audience comprises representatives of all major construction companies as well as manufacturers of concrete and precast concrete elements from all regions of Russia – this year there were 200 company representatives including, for example, staff members of the precast manufacturers 183MZ (GVSU Zentr), DSK-1 Krasnopresnenski or DZZhBI (SU 155).

Apart from Russia’s leading construction media, the Russian edition of the trade journal BFT International is the exclusive international media partner of the “All-Russia Conference of Concrete Manufacturers”.

Concrete technology and standardization

The lecture of Oleg Zamuruyev, Deputy Director of the nanotechnology center of the state-owned enterprise Poliplast, attracted great interest. He gave the audience an account of his company’s latest research findings concerning the development of concrete admixtures.

Mark Brusser, head of the concrete technology laboratory of the Moscow-based “Research, Design and Technological Institute for Concrete and Reinforced Concrete” (NIIZhB), a central state authority in the Russian concrete industry, informed the conference participants on the recent amendments to national standards and guidelines for the concrete and precast concrete industry. Brusser reported in detail on the methodology of the documents, and he gave examples for the application.

Fire protection and concrete testing

Valentina Afanasyeva of the “Scientific and Research Institute Mosstroy” (NIIMosstroy) focused in her lecture on the fundamental mistakes made in building with in-situ concrete. The head of the strategic development department of “Poliplast Novomoskovsk”, a sister company of Poliplast, Vladislav Mashutin, presented a general view of the developments in the construction industry in the Moscow region.

The following lectures dealt with the fire resistance of various grades of fiber-reinforced concrete, with non-destructive concrete testing methods, with the distribution of steel fiber in fresh concrete, with methods for cement and concrete testing as well as a presentation giving an overview of cement grades, which are currently used on construction sites in the Moscow area.

The organizers expressed their satisfaction concerning the development of the conference over the last three years. The number of participants had increased. And apart from the number, the quality of the participants was also very pleasing – hardly any other specialized event held in Russia’s concrete sector brought so many professionals from all regions across the huge country together at one place.
