Samoter 2014: Change toward eco building

Construction projects based on ecological principles and executed in Italy by public private partnerships increased between 2012 and 2013 by around 30 % in volume and generated a turnover of 2.1 billion euros. Local governments, whose investments rose by 7 % last year, played the principal role here. Despite the present strained financial situation of the Italian state, its investments in construction are expected to be around 4.5 billion euros in 2014. This level is due in part to Italian tax breaks granted for investments in construction that impose only a low impact on the environment.
