TCM and Nissan stacking jointly in future

The corporations Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. and Hitachi Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. will combine their activities concerning ground level transportation in a joint venture. For this purpose they signed a memorandum of understanding with the public-private partnership Innovation Network Corporation of Japan (INCJ). The name of the new giant forklift enterprise is UniCarriers Corporation. It shall operate yet as of spring 2012.

INCJ will contribute a whole 30 billion Yen of growth capital to the merger, being equivalent to just under 300 million Euro. The majority of the voting shares of UniCarriers will be held by the public-private partnership, and thus they also hold the management. The conglomerate, on the basis of its added revenues, currently is the number six among the global ranking of the sector.
