Sources of inspiration
Dear readers, we hope you returned healthy from Munich with many excellent ideas, broadened knowledge and new contacts. bauma 2022, as one of the most significant meeting places of our segment of industry, is behind us and was also, to us as editors of BFT International, a source of inspiration for our work. Identifying current and relevant questions is one of the great challenges of our work.
In November, the editorial content focusses on concrete pipes, manholes and other precast elements for underground construction. I would like to call your special attention to the plant report “From the PGH of the roofing trade to a modern precast concrete production facility” (p. 54 ff.). Situated in a scenic location on the Stettiner Haff, the company Abwassertechnik Terrazzo und Fertigteil GmbH (ATF), in Leopoldshagen in the German federal state of Western Pomerania, can look back on a long history. The company has supplied distributors and plants with wastewater treatment facilities and other concrete products for many years. We were allowed to look behind the scenes.
In addition to visiting international events for our industrial segments, trade shows and congresses, and besides discussions on the latest research findings and contacts with the scientific community, it is precisely such insights into practical work in precast plants that represent special inspiration for us.
