Ehl group awarded in occupational health and safety
On the occasion of a seminar for executives of the group held by German institutions for statutory accident insurance and prevention in Maria Laach (Germany) in November 2008 the company was awarded the health and safety certificate of two German institutions for statutory accident insurance and prevention (Berufsgenossenschaften – BG) at the same time, which certify the high safety standard in factories of Ehl. With this, the Ehl group is the first company in the concrete paving stone industry, which meets the quite high requirements of successful auditing of occupational safety and health.
The German institution for statutory accident insurance and prevention of the quarry industry (StBG) entitles the company to hold the seal “SMS – Sicher mit System” (safe with system). At the same time, BG Bau, German institution for statutory accident insurance and prevention of the building industry, certifies that the company meets the requirements of a systematic and efficient occupational safety by awarding the certificate “AMS – Arbeitsschutz mit System” (occupational safety with system). Both safety systems have been successfully implemented, audited and certified in all factories of the Ehl group.
Even for Ehl the certification involved extensive changes with partly quite radical changes in the organizational structure. Owing to appropriate adaptations of the organizational and operational structure occupational health and safety is now stipulated in the management system of the Ehl group given top priority. As a result the Ehl group is certified a stringent communication with clear and well-defined organizational structures as well as the complexity and quality of training courses. In this regard, the commitment of the executive staff, the high acceptance of occupational health and safety, and the high quality order and tidiness in the factories are the points being particularly noticed favorably.
