3A Wassertechnik and 3A Betonsysteme acquired

The Berding Beton group of companies has taken over the 3A Wassertechnik GmbH & Co. KG specialist company based in Augsburg – always referred to as 3A for short – together with the associated concrete plant 3A Beton GmbH & Co. KG located in Hagenbach near Karlsruhe. The products and services (3A abbreviated from the German terms of wastewater treatment, separation systems, analytics) are primarily oriented towards wastewater issues, arising during cleaning, maintenance and refueling of vehicles (motor vehicles, vessels, airplanes, etc.). In addition to these light liquid separation systems, 3A is also manufacturing separators for grease that must be provided where oil- and grease-containing wastewater accumulates at commercial operations.

„The more a company knows and understands the market and its environment, the more effectively it is working for its customers,“ expresses company founder and former shareholder, Gisela E. Pesel-Glandorf. She founded 3A in Augsburg 30 years ago and together with her team she has invested an enormous amount of time, energy and above all lifeblood in the development of new products and in project consultation. The sales region comprises the D/A/CH countries (Germany, Austria and Switzerland). Owing to the growing awareness concerning the scarce resource of water, the quality products of 3A have increasingly been used as underground wastewater pre-treatment system for water recovery plants as well as in stormwater management for some years.

Lifetime achievement in good hands

„It was my desire that my lifetime achievement should be in good hands,“ Pesel-Glandorf summarizes the successful sales negotiations. „Make your plans with people who are walking the same path as you,“ she complements her sentence with a Chinese proverb. With Georg Berding, she has found a buyer with the same business values and aims, such as integrity, innovation, responsibility, a high product quality as well as satisfied customers and employees, among others.

The company owner of Berding Beton is also very satisfied: „For us, the acquisition is perfectly supplementing our product range in the segment of stormwater management products, because everybody will benefit from the mutual transfer of knowledge and know-how in the future. As far as the tasks of the predicted climate scenarios are concerned, with this expansion we are even better positioned for the topics of environmental protection and sustainability, that will continue to gain importance in the future. The requirements in respect of the consequences of climate change – keyword events of heavy rainfall – and the demand for appropriate product solutions will increase accordingly.“ As the 3A companies become parts of a strong market leader, it can be summarized that the purchase is a win-win situation for both sides. All employees of the 3A companies will be taken over.
