German parliamentary elections took place at the end of September. German voters elect a new national government every four years – and by the time you, our readers, receive this issue, these election results will have been released. 

The run-up to the elections was marked by repeated appeals and campaigns by various segments of the industry and other special-interest groups aimed at jolting their members. All media played a part in these efforts. The editorial offices of newspapers, journals, and TV stations were likewise swamped with appeals of this nature and with information campaigns....
