Europe’s leading congress of the precast concrete industry highlights opportunities
The concrete and precast industry has also had to deal with the impact of the financial crisis. Declining orders, high inventory levels and customer insolvencies are major challenges businesses are faced with. Yet every crisis also gives rise to changes and opportunities. The crisis needs to be overcome and utilized. Business structures and products must be put to the test whilst driving innovation and paving new paths. For exactly this reason, “Seizing Opportunities” was chosen as the theme of the 54th BetonTage, which will again be held at the Edwin-Scharff-Haus congress center in Neu-Ulm from 9 to 11 February 2010.
Keynote speaker Prof. Dr.-Ing. Hans-Peter Keitel, President of the Federation of German Industries (BDI), will elaborate on this motto and present strategies to strengthen German as an industry hub on its way out of the crisis. Yet the existing potentials are far from being fully utilized also with regard to concrete and precast construction.
