Jordahl® Anchor Channels Used in the First Mercedes Plant in Hungary
In future, the A and B Class of Mercedes will also be manufactured in Hungary. The automobile manufacturer Daimler is presently building a new plant near Budapest. Production in Kecskemét is said to start in 2012 providing new jobs in the Puszta region.
Production and assembly halls as well as service buildings covering an overall floor space of more than 230,000 sq.m will be constructed. The construction site has the size of roughly 650 soccer fields. The architect of the plant is Kohlbecker Gesamtplan GmbH. Züblin AG is responsible for the construction.
Great extents of the production and assembly halls have been built of precast elements, being manufactured in eight Hungarian precast concrete factories of Züblin. The columns and beams of the halls are reinforced to a high degree. As to bridge long spans of partly up to about 30 m the beams...
