Frame system of high dimensional accuracy

Traffic on the BAB A30 autobahn running from east to west near the German city of Bad Oeyhnhausen increases continuously. A four-lane national highway running directly through the spa absorbs the traffic leading to, from and through the town.

It was planned for traffic to flow as early as 2014 via a northern bypass, to relieve the inner city from heavy- and long-haul traffic – but completion was delayed to 2017.

Low-pore matrix

Betonwerk Bieren GmbH supplies the reinforced-concrete frames, concrete and reinforced-concrete pipes as well as a variety of manhole systems, all of which meet the stringent requirements of the quality guideline of the German Trade Association Concrete Pipes and Reinforced-Concrete Pipes “Fachvereinigung Betonrohre und Stahlbetonrohre.“ The reinforced concrete frames are manufactured of waterproof concrete C60/75 to DIN EN 1916 – DIN V 1201 Type 2, SLW 60. These frame systems are of high dimensional accuracy, high concrete density and water-tightness. Removal from the form takes place only after a high compressive concrete strength is reached.

Owing to optimally graded aggregate sizes and the carefully matched binders, the reinforced-concrete frames are characterized by an outstandingly dense and low-pore matrix and optimal compaction. Modern batching technology and special casting procedures guarantee the high uniformity and superior properties of the frame elements.

More than 4 km pipes

State-of-the-art machinery engineering and special forms enable high dimensional accuracy in the connecting areas and precision-formed edges to ensure exact positioning of the integrated seals. The reinforced-concrete frames have a maximum effective length of 3 m and a maximum wall thickness of 350 mm. The wall thicknesses are designed to meet the given requirements – for this construction measure, a wall thickness of 250 mm is specified. This thickness is in accordance with the German standards DIN 1055 and DIN 1072 and FB 101 based on DIN 1045-1 (EN 206), respectively. The frames are fitted with a dual-wedge sliding seal and are pressure watertight to EN 681-1. Price and quality advantages make rectangular profiles the preferred choice for use in large-scale development projects. In addition, the frames are easy to install and enable shorter installation times .

For the A30 construction measure northern bypass, 4 km of concrete and reinforced-concrete pipes in diameters of DN 300 to DN 800 and effective lengths of 2.5 m are supplied. The pipes to DIN EN 1916 Type 2 DIN V 1201 are immediately demolded and are fitted with the integrated Anker plus sealing system.
