Klebl builds Europe‘s largest paperworks

The largest paperworks in Europe, with an overall area of 350,000 m2 and a building footprint of 70,000 m2, is currently under construction in Brandenburg’s Eisenhüttenstadt. This giant among paperworks is due to start production in March 2010, and work is proceeding at full speed on the building site.

The construction is an outstanding exercise in logistics: the site has five fixed cranes, five caterpillar cranes and a number of mobile cranes with a load capacity of up to 750 t. As many as 300 trucks per day deliver up to 2,000 m³ of ready-mix concrete, 150 t of steel and up to 40 precast concrete sections weighing over 60 t and measuring up to 30 m in length. Two hundred and twenty skilled workers and engineers are working around the clock to maintain the tight construction schedule.
