 Peikko Designer^® has been developed as a software application that is meant to assist structural engineers in the design, analysis and code verification of structural details that incorporate Peikko items. It is expected to serve primarily structural engineers; other applications might be possible as well. It is a server-based application – it is installed and regularly maintained through Peikko’s servers. This way, the user is always sure to work exclusively with the latest version of the program. At the same time, it is also possible to use the software package without internet connection for a maximum period of 30 days.

Although most of the Peikko products are manufactured as standard items with pre-defined resistance parameters, the structural performance of the products often depends on their interaction with the surrounding structure. The first design modules implemented in the Peikko Designer^® software package in 2010 and 2011 thus relate to Peikko items where the assessment of this interaction is particularly sensitive (Column Connection, Punching Reinforcement).
