Cautious optimism / BIBM Congress 2021
Dear readers,
About 10 % of the population in Germany is currently fully vaccinated against the corona virus, in Denmark almost 20 %, the number of corona cases and the incidence rates are on the decline, if only very slowly. And even if we are still miles away from an all-clear and normality – which most likely will be an entirely different, new normality – I dare to take an optimistic look into the future.
And therefore I am happy to announce that the BIBM Congress – postponed in 2020 due to the corona pandemic – will now take place face-to-face from 14 to 16 November 2021 in Copenhagen. The Congress will address such key issues as decarbonization, lifecycle management and recycling and will be held, appropriate to the industry, in a precast building, i.e. the Tivoli Congress Center.
The Managing Directors Dr. Ulrich Lotz and Michael Voss, as well as Project Manager Denny Bakirtzis of the Organizer Building Congress Forum, answered interview questions from BFT Editor-in-Chief Silvio Schade. He wanted to know what makes the Congress special, what the expected 650 participants can look forward to and also what the event’s hygiene concept looks like. You will find the entire interview on pages 60-63.
