Economical paver laying
Now, the mini excavator of Rudi Embacher is even able to lay pavers. Instead of moving stone by stone manually, Embacher is laying faster than ever – by means of a joystick while sitting in the excavator.
For economic reasons the company owner from Stephanskirchen close to the German city of Rosenheim was forced to think about a more effective way of laying pavers: His business has been involved in gardening and landscape construction since 1980, with main focus on concrete paving blocks since then. In more and more tenders, Embacher could not bid his services at competitive prices, because the labor costs for manual laying were a major cost factor.
High cycle times achieved quickly
“I had to take a decision on either not offering paving works any longer or following the trend to use a paver laying machine,” stated the junior director, who is managing the business already in the second generation. Embacher decided to meet the requirements of the market. Therefore, he had to search for a possibility allowing him to lay concrete pavers of a high quality, while achieving a large square footage per day and worker. An own payer laying machine was out of question – the fixed costs did not correspond to the actual demand. So a paver laying clamp P02-twist of Hunklinger was the solution for him.
Lorenz Hunklinger of Hunklinger Allortech was very pleased to see how fast the garden and landscape constructor learned the system of excavator paving when giving him first technical instructions. This is thanks not least to the patented one-circuit control system. It is so to speak the “heart and brain” of the Hunklinger paver laying clamp, thus operation becomes a walk in the park to an experienced excavator driver. He achieved a cycle time of 50 s/m² already after the first attempts. That totals to about 70 m²/h – with a rising tendency.
