Eirich Group expands its location in India

The Eirich Group, with Maschinenfabrik Gustav Eirich as its strategic headquarters in Hardheim, has been market leader in mixing and processing technology all over the world for almost 160 years now. By a new building in India, Eirich continues its strategy of global expansion.

The ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of the new factory premises of the subsidiary Eirich India took place in the Chakan industrial area in Pune, India. It is planned to start the production of Eirich machinery and equipment already at mid-2023.

Stephan Eirich manages the family-run company in the fifth generation and considers the expansion of the Indian location as an important strategic step for the Eirich Group: “India has a lot of technical talent and has a good infrastructure, which is also perfectly suited to produce more of our products locally. The proximity to our customers in the major markets of the world is always a guiding principle for us. The second factory in India is in accordance with the ‘Made in India’ philosophy of the country, but also reflects our confidence to deliver markets outside India as soon as the ramp-up curve will have been mastered successfully,” Eirich states.

New production site of intensive mixers and plant technology

The factory is situated on a plot covering three hectares in the Chakan industrial area in Pune and will manufacture intensive mixers and plant technology at this new production site. Eirich enjoys a strong market position for its mixing and processing technology in various industrial segments such as metallurgy, refractory, ceramics, agricultural chemistry, foundry, battery, carbon products and many more. The commissioning of the factory in Chakan will increase the capacity of Eirich India considerably. The present location in Mumbai founded in 1998 is already too small now and will be relocated after the completion of the new factory.

“India is a focus market for Eirich. With its expanded capacity, the factory in Chakan will satisfy the growing demand for our products in all customer industries. And, in particular, the on-site support of our Indian customers with fast service, spare parts ‘Made in India’ and the excellent technical advice becomes more and more important.

The limited space available in Mumbai became a critical bottleneck for us and all the more we are looking forward to our new factory. Moreover, because Eirich India will then also be in the position to supply overseas markets with parts and complete machines from 2025 onwards by a strong network of companies of the Eirich Group in 12 countries,” states Sourav Sen, Managing Director of Eirich India.
