Fabric formwork – an alternative to traditional formwork
Fabric formwork can be used in both cast-in-place and precast applications. It offers several advantages over conventional formwork technology and provides opportunities for innovations in architectural and structural concrete members.
There are two reasons for an increasing, widespread application of fabric formwork. Firstly, it guarantees an improvement in the economy and durability of concrete structures. Secondly, it is flexible for the three-dimensional shaping of beams, columns and walls, limited only by the architect‘s vision.
