Get the right shape with appropriate reinforcement

Concrete can assume nearly any external shape. The same applies to the reinforcement which is not necessarily limited to rectangular patterns or component surfaces. The question is rather, which is the ideal constellation in the individual case.

The topology optimization is a powerful tool for determining the same. It shows the dominate distribution of forces to which external shapes but also the internal reinforcement layout can be adapted in terms of strut-and-tie models.
