Hybrid towers for wind power plants in precast construction –

Large wind power towers measuring up to far over 100 m in height are of crucial significance for efficient wind exploitation and electric power generation. Towers of these dimensions are virtually impossible to realize efficiently with conventional construction methods. This prompted the building contractor Max Bögl, a leading German precaster, to develop hybrid towers. Only the peak of the tower is made of steel, the lower two-thirds of the structure consisting of prestressed concrete.
