Innovation: New Schöck Isokorb XT-Combar
In the field of reinforcement technology, as well as with sandwich and element walls, Combar has been a familiar constant for many years as a construction material. The high-quality glass fiber material, the result of complex development work, has now been integrated in Schöck Isokorb XT-Combar. In this way, the time-tested Isokorb technology has been retained with all of its benefits. In continuous straight tension members, Combar can play out its strengths.
Two product worlds meet in the new construction solution Isokorb XT-Combar – Isokorb XT and Combar, the composite glass fiber. The combination of their properties results in a thermal insulation element that enables significantly greater cantilever of balconies, with the same heat dissipation, in passive and nearly zero-energy houses.
Glass fiber reinforcement with superior thermotechnical performance
Schöck Combar consists of corrosion-resistant, especially densely packed glass fibers, bound with a vinyl ester resin. Once the material has hardened, profiling and final coating follow.
The result is a reinforcement material with superior structural, physical, and sustainable properties, as well as with numerous advantages – for example, high tensile strength, durability, and corrosion resistance. The markedly lower self-weight, compared to steel, enables installation by one man without a crane.
Der Schöck Isokorb XT-Combar is especially convincing with its low thermal conductivity. The infrared image illustrates the superiority of the glass fiber material Combar over steel materials. There is virtually no thermal conductivity, providing for greater architectural freedom of design and fewer insulation measures for passive and nearly zero-energy houses.
