Johannesburg football stadium

The FIFA World Cup tournament got underway on June 11th. The event is taking place this year for the first time on African soil. The stadium where the first game is being played is the largest in Africa, and its shape resembles a traditional African drinking vessel.

The cladding on the new stadium is made of glass fibre reinforced concrete.

The Fibre-C panels were supplied by Rieder Smart Elements of Austria, which manufactures them at a production site near Rosenheim in Bavaria. Sophisticated mixing equipment is needed to produce glass fibre reinforced concrete, which is why Rieder chose Eirich.

Eirich mixing systems are the ideal choice for manufacturers of pre-fabricated elements, who are satisfied with nothing less than top-quality, uniform concrete.
