Maintenance of concrete buildings
Today, great significance is attached to the protection and maintenance of buildings. Buildings of the 1960s and 1970s – including the material concrete used for this – increasingly move into the focus of restoration and/or maintenance.
For restoration measures involving architectural concrete buildings, preservation of the surface is in particular of major concern, because due to its creation in one pouring procedure, the construction and the surface are inseparately connected to each other. This aspect is neglected in the current code of practice for concrete maintenance and repair measures.
In the event “Maintenance of Concrete Buildings,” InformationsZentrum Beton gives an overview of the changes in regulations. The assessment of chloride-bearing construction elements by potential field analysis is explained. Other topics are restoration in housing construction and restoration and/or maintenance of parking structures.
