Mixing plant for UHPC in Austria
At BG-Graspointer in the Austrian city of Oberwang a precast concrete mixer for ultra-high-strength concrete (UHPC) from SBM has now been put into operation. BG-Graspointer is a manufacturer of surface-water drainage systems and precast concrete parts for railroad and road construction and markets its products throughout Europe.
The complete plant has a width of 9.5 m, a length of 23 m and a height of 18 m. It comprises a total of seven silos, three of which with a capacity of 66 m3 each with four compartments for wet sands, and four silos, each with a capacity of 50 m3 and five compartments for cements and dry sands. A microprocessor-control supplied by Sauter is to ensure adherence to very tight tolerances and documentation of the mixing processes.
Dry sands and binders are blown into the silos through a pipe and batched via screws into the weighing unit. The process from there to the mixer is fully automatically controlled.
Wet sands, dry sands, fi-bers, binders and admixtures are batched and weighed into a single mixer. The plant incorporates an R12 Eirich mixer designed for processing special concretes. The 250-l mixers discharges 3,4 to 4 m3 per hour. The intensive mixer was moreover provided with an automatic high-pressure cleaning plant.
