New concrete admixture plant inaugurated in Vietnam
BASF inaugurated its new production plant for concrete admixtures in the northern province of Bac Giang, Vietnam. The new plant will allow BASF to better meet the increasing demands for high quality construction chemicals products in Vietnam.
“The new plant enhances our flexibility to serve our customers with timely supply and shorter lead times, especially in the northern part of Vietnam,” said Christian Mombaur, head of Construction Chemicals Asia Pacific, BASF. “Northern Vietnam is continuing its path of rapid urbanization and industrialization. Our new Bac Giang plant will enable us to stay closer to our customers and offer solutions to meet the growing demands in specialized construction chemicals, especially for building multi-story buildings and long-lasting infrastructure construction projects.”
Production of standard and performance admixtures
Located at the Van Trung Industrial Park in Bac Giang province, the plant is equipped with production units, a laboratory for product quality control as well as warehousing facilities. There, BASF produces both standard and custom-made performance admixtures from the Master-Glenium product line under the Master Builders Solutions brand. The company’s construction chemicals have been used in many popular construction projects such as the Noi Bai T2 Airport and the Nhat Tan Bridge.
Petrus Ng, Managing Director of BASF in Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar says, “Vietnam is one of the fastest growing countries in Asia Pacific and is an important market for our company. The opening of the new plant in Bac Giang is yet another milestone for us as it expands our manufacturing footprint in Vietnam and supports the rapid growth of Vietnam’s construction market.”
Bac Giang plant is strategically located at about 40 km from Hanoi City, with close proximity to Hai Phong sea port and Noi Bai airport, and it is the largest facility of its kind in northern Vietnam. This is BASF’s second construction chemicals plant in Vietnam, complementing the existing plant in Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park, Binh Duong province.
