Reliability of small wastewater treatment plants in Germany

New technical assessment rules in consequence
of the ECJ judgment

In October 2014, the European Court of Justice (ECJ) considered “that the Federal Republic of Germany violated the obligations arising from Directive 89/106/EEC”. Large parts of Part B of the Construction Product List were withdrawn in response to this. As a result, the legal basis was eliminated for national technical approvals granted by DIBt (German Institute for Construction Technology) for products already governed by European harmonized standards.
