OhorongoCement awarded

The Namibia International Investment Forum honors outstanding entrepreneurial achievements in Namibia. The coveted awards were presented in Windhoek, the capital of Namibia, on November 29.
In the presence of President Hifikepunye Pohamba and the entire government, the cement manufacturing company OhorongoCement was presented the award in the category “International Investor of the Year”. The prize was received by the managing director of the Schwenk group of companies, Gerhard Hirth (Ohorongo is a 100% subsidiary of Schwenk).

The award also honors the extraordinary commitment of the Schwenk Group based in Ulm (Germany) during the erection and operation of the most advanced cement factory at the African continent.

Namibia’s President expressed his thanks to the prize winners on the occasion of the award ceremony and highlighted the important role the successful company is playing for a sustainable economic development of the country.

In the course of a gala dinner, Schwenk was furthermore awarded the prize “Best Corporate Award”, which Gerhard Hirth received from Namibia’s Minister of Trade and Industry, Dr. Hage Geingob.
