On the road to climate neutrality
Dear Readers, sustainability is a key issue for us. The essence of this topic runs like a continuous thread through all our editions. We all agree that building with concrete must become still more sustainable. Just a few days ago we came together at the 66th BetonTage under the motto “Sustainable building with concrete” and discussed how the CO2 footprint of our industry can be best reduced. Our Yearbook “Beton Bauteile 2022” likewise deals with sustainability in a special chapter. But we not only report on climate-friendly projects, research and innovation that benefit environmental protection: we ourselves at Bauverlag work on our own climate neutrality. In 2025 we will be one of the first media enterprises in Germany to be 100 % climate neutral. Implementation of the e-paper – also for us as BFT International – is a very important step in this direction. We will successively increase the share of our electronic circulation and in this way continuously reduce our paper consumption.
