The year of bauma
It has been the largest trade fair in the world for a long time, and this year it will be even larger. Bauma is the international meeting place of the industry, global innovation driver and marketplace. In April, the focus is on three megatrends: digitization, sustainability and efficiency. With more than 3,500 exhibitors on an exhibition area of 614,000 m², Messe München, the organizer, reports new record attendance this year. And the attendance level of 600,000 is expected to be surpassed for the first time.
Our new BFT editor, who has been supporting our new Editor-in-Chief Silvio Schade since 01 March, and who greets you in this editorial, is making a small contribution to boosting the attendance with her first visit to the world’s leading trade show. Karla Knitter, who holds a degree in media research, has been on the staff of Bauverlag for 2.5 years, during which time she was project manager of the Inhouse Agency of the publishing house and, project-related, in charge of customers of all 18 media brands. Her request for specialization was heard and her path led her as editor to the BFT, where she undertakes to reform the online sector, among other tasks. And what would be the best way for gaining insights into her new field of activity – the precast concrete industry? At bauma, of course, which provides a complete survey of innovations, technologies and trends.
We will see each other in Munich.
