Industrialized construction forwards with innovations, partnerships, and precast solutions

At bauma, Elematic launches a tailored service offering with digital services, shares how to automate and digitize the precast process for improved efficiency, introduces a mobile precast plant to significantly improve construction speed, and introduces new partnerships.

„We are presenting not only the solutions for industrialized construction but also how to prepare for more sustainable construction,“ shares Elematic‘s Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Toni Rauvanto. „And most importantly, you can discover the latest innovations to automate, secure, and optimize profitable precast production at our stand,“ he continues.

Elematics Design Services for precast building, led by Mr. Prakash Shah, is present at Bauma this year, along with Mr. Chander Dutta, Managing Director of Elematic India, and Mr. Shridhar Rao, Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

Elematic and Sitedrive to scale proven industrialized construction innovations to key growth markets

In a significant move to enhance the efficiency of the construction industry, Elematic has announced a partnership with Sitedrive, an innovative construction technology firm. This collaboration aims to accelerate the speed at which buildings are built, reduce costs, and deliver higher quality through an industrialized construction approach. This go-to-market collaboration is grounded on proven and field-validated concepts that are taken to markets around the world.

The construction industry has historically faced inefficiencies, with recent studies indicating that over 80% of working hours on-site are often wasted*, creating little or no value. Both companies believe that their combined strengths can transform this landscape on a global scale. By utilizing industrialized construction methods, they intend to reduce construction time by half, cut costs by 30% - while ensuring safer and more sustainable building practices as well as high-quality end-results.

Enabling a radical step change in construction productivity enabled through a job site-centric approach

„On a global scale, buildings continue to be built in traditional ways which binds scarce labor to the job sites, is costly and is not keeping up at the pace which society needs new apartments and amenities,“ said Teppo Voutilainen, CEO of Elematic, emphasizing the need to transform how buildings are built.

„Elematic brings the experience of designing buildings using precast to optimize the material consumption and number of structural elements to be erected at job sites. In addition, we bring the full production system and software to enable our clients to produce the elements efficiently. The missing piece in optimizing the full construction system is optimizing how the interior work activities are managed and completed. Together we will enable customers to move to a job site-centric approach through a pull-system, where the whole supply chain is geared to support the job sites to perform better”, Voutilainen continues.

“We have developed a solution suite which allows job sites to enable a 20-fold improvement in how space is used and workers tasked. We take planning from the traditional floor level to a more granular apartment and individual room level. This allows us to enable a radical step-change in how work is done”, explains Henry Salo, CEO of Sitedrive. “We have also developed a prefabricated bathroom pod which helps to move the most complex building component to be produced in a factory environment, reducing hassle at sites. Our solutions have been validated at over 300 construction sites, at 70 construction companies in the Nordic countries. We are now ready to take these solutions to the global market by working with Elematic which has customers in over 100 countries”, says Salo. “This is truly a win-win partnership”.

Addressing the needs for reconstruction and affordable housing through proven solutions

Elematic provides not only precast technology and software for optimizing how building frames are erected, but also comprehensive design services for precast element construction. On the other hand, Sitedrive contributes its expertise in production planning and execution, along with prefabricated bathroom pods, which are essential components in modern construction.

With increasing global demands for reconstruction and affordable housing, this partnership stands ready to meet these global challenges. By harnessing lean construction principles, Elematic and Sitedrive can make significant shift towards a more efficient, safe, and sustainable future in construction.
