More than 2,000 participants from over 65 countries at The Big 5 Dubai

More than 2,000 participants from over 65 countries participated in this event, which was held in over 20 national pavilions. More than 65,000 trade visitors had been expected at the trade show, which took place from 5 to 8 December 2022. The annual Big 5 fair comprises six trade events that cover the entire industry: Big 5 Heavy, Middle East Concrete, HVAC R Expo, Middle East Stone, Urban Design & Landscape Expo and FM Expo. The premier of Everything Architecture was held during the same week, in parallel with Big 5 – according to the organizer, the only exclusive event for the architecture and design sector in the Middle East.

The 2022 edition of Big 5 featured exciting discussions, keynotes and impressive innovations. In talks conducted by industry leaders, one topic – i.e., that construction technology promotes change - again and again hovered in the background. Big 5 offers the industry an outstanding platform for collaboration, exchange of findings and ideas, as well as presentation of innovations in order to promote a positive business environment and social changes.

High-ranking visit at Big 5

Sheik Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of the Emirate of Dubai, also visited Big 5 in the Dubai World Trade Centre.

H.H. Sheik Mohammed bin Rashid said that technological progress is radically changing various sectors, among them the building sector. He continued by emphasizing that the construction sector had introduced various elements of the fourth industrial revolution, including KI and its applications in projects. Infrastructure projects are the key to comprehensive, sustainable development, said the Ruler.

German exhibitors, with participation of the German government, were also a strong presence – in many cases, with their managing directors – in one of the already mentioned 20 national pavilions. The majority of participants from the plant engineering sector and from the supplier industry to the concrete industry responded very positively to questions: for example, Harald Kniele (Kniele), Onno Fritzen (Frima), Matthias Bechtold (Wasa), Hans-Heinrich Reuter (Testing), Lutz Hammer (Reckli) and Jürgen Reiser (Intexmo).

Everything Architecture for the first time

The first Everything Architecture event, held recently in parallel with Big 5 in the Dubai World Trade Center, presented the latest and most innovative products, materials and services that advance the architecture and design sector. Everything Architecture, which featured, on two days, the latest from the segments Design and Innovation, conducted a number of lectures and interactive workshops, which attracted 1,700 visitors to its first edition.
