Quality monitoring of fresh concrete - determining the water content with the Sono WZ water analyzer
The product quality of fresh concrete can be determined on the job site using a mobile water analyzer. The measuring method used is the same as for all Imko systems, but this probe has been specially engineered for use in fresh concrete and outputs the moisture content and w/c value. A few years ago, Imko was awarded the Bauma Innovation Prize for the probe. In the meantime, the Sono WZ has established an international reputation on the market. The advantages of the probe lie in particular in the speed and volume of the measurement. A bucket sample of 12 liters can be completely measured in 2 minutes. Measured values are either shown on the robust display or via App. Conventional thermal methods measure much smaller samples and require many times longer. Using the Sono WZ makes it possible to eliminate the time-consuming laboratory drying process until the weight is constant.
With the concrete product line, Imko offers probes for incoming inspection of moisture content in sand and aggregates at goods inwards, inline probes on the dosing flaps or on conveyor belts as well as mixer probes in all mixer types and all common control systems. The measurement of fresh concrete moisture and water/cement ratio complements seamless product monitoring and documentation and enables production of concrete and concrete products in all consistent qualities. This is how measuring makes sense: “measure with pleasure”.
