Building Materials for a “Green“ Expo
The Duisburg-based building materials manufacturer Xella is using the World Expo in Shanghai (taking place from May 1 to October 31, 2010) as a platform to present Ytong. In several pavilions, among them the central buildings of the exposition, autoclaved aerated concrete made in the Shanghai Ytong plant has been used.
“What a gorgeous view!“ enthused architect Olivier Valognes over the breathtaking view of the World Expo PerformanceCenter in Shanghai still a long time after his return from China. “It looks like a flying saucer that changes into a hovering city at night.“ Valognes was one of the 30 French business partners who visited the Chinese megacity in June at the invitation of Xella.
