Concrete pipe factory on a greenfield site
Very green the site is not. But after 56 consecutive days of maximum temperatures of around 37° C this is no wonder. Recently a state-of-the-art production facility with an RP 1635 and a Variant 4000 was put into operation in Seguin near San Antonio, Texas/USA. The plant was brought up to full performance within a very short time and operates today with impressive results.
The factory was generously designed and process-oriented, as is possible on a greenfield site. The general layout of the facility is shown in Fig. 1.
The company
AmeriTex was founded in 2008 by Kevin Thompson
(Fig. 2), who himself grew up in a “family of pipemakers.” He decided to realize his own production of concrete pipes and related products. Construction work began precisely one year ago. The result is a state-of-the-art plant with
26 employees – 20 of whom work in production and storage and 6 in administration and sales.
A decision like this, even if made at a time when there was no bank...
