60 successful years of company history
The Rhine-Hessian family-owned company Weiler celebrated its 60-year anniversary on June 27. The foundation in 1954 and the takeover of the manufacturer of plants and equipment for the precast concrete industry by the General Manager, Matthias Holzberger, in 1984 gave reason to celebrate together with business partners, former staff members and those interested in plant engineering.
More than 250 participants from all over the world
The about 260 participants, for example, from France, Belgium, Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Libya, South Africa, Canada, Cameroon and the Congo gave the celebration the multicultural atmosphere that is characteristic for the worldwide operating company.
Representatives of regional politics highlighted in their speeches the peculiarity of the medium-sized, family-owned business. Even the members of an apprenticeship course enjoyed a factory tour.
Fun and entertainment were guaranteed by the miniature golf course made of hollow slabs and a street basketball tournament organized by a local sports club sponsored by Weiler.
The machinery exhibition aroused an extraordinarily great interest, and the experts gave answers to the many questions of the exhibitors. The Weiler Max-truder, a fully automated sawing machine, a testing facility for tensile and compression tests of precast concrete products and a MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) for wire placing, oiling and cleaning of the manufacturing lines were showcased, among others. The tour, furthermore, gave an insight into technology, electrics, mechanics and steel construction and presented moreover a tilting table as well as a remote-controlled plant in operation.
