Magdeburg based company acquires technology division of Weiler
A new investor was found for Weiler Maschinen- und Anlagenbau GmbH with its head office in Gau-Algesheim, Germany. In long drawn out yet constructive negotiations, the officially appointed receiver, Jens Lieser, of Koblenz-based law firm Lieser Rechtsanwälte, managed to work out a solution for the insolvent family-run business to continue its operating activity. A transfer of ownership was combined with a reorganization to sell one of the leading global suppliers of equipment and complete precast production lines to B. T. innovation GmbH, the Magdeburg-based construction technology provider.
As part of the sale, the expertise, inventory, complete order book, and work in progress will pass to the investor. The takeover is structured as an asset deal so that the investor will acquire the in-depth knowledge and expertise required to continue the development and manufacture of special machines for the precast industry.
For this purpose, B. T. innovation GmbH, the Magdeburg-based construction technology provider, has established Maxtruder GmbH, a new subsidiary that is also based at the company’s head office. This entity will offer the products and services previously provided by Weiler to the existing customer base whilst also attracting new customers and gradually expanding its product portfolio.
Retaining the power to innovate in plant engineering
B. T. innovation GmbH develops products and technologies for the construction and precast industries whilst broadening its advisory and product expertise as a result of the deal. Matthias Holzberger, former managing director of Weiler Maschinen- und Anlagenbau GmbH, will take on a sales management role in the newly established entity, Maxtruder GmbH.
“Weiler is the go-to technology supplier for ingeniously designed, high-quality products in the precast industry. The establishment of Maxtruder GmbH makes it possible for us to retain the tried and tested, cutting-edge technology on the market. In so doing, we aim to combine several decades of experience with our power to innovate in order to develop the best technical solutions built on a wealth of expertise and a forward-looking perspective,” says Felix von Limburg, Managing Partner of B. T. innovation GmbH. “We also intend to continue our reliable provision of spares, service and assembly capacities to our customers to ensure that the quality proposition of the former Weiler business is upheld.”
