Excel tool for EnEV pre-design of façade panels

The Trade Association of German Precast Construction (FDB) has augmented its eight design aids by adding a new Excel tool for EnEV pre-design pre-sizing large-sized reinforced-concrete façade panels.

In close collaboration with the FDB sponsoring member Halfen GmbH, in Langenfeld, Germany, the FDB, in its Curtain Wall Working Group – composed of staff of the FDB Façade Task Force – developed its new design tool for EnEV pre-design/and pre-sizing.

This design aid is based on an extensive parameter study for added factors for the U-value required as a result of fixing elements (the Halfen System) for large-sized reinforced-concrete curtain walls.

Additional free design aids

Additional design aids for structural precast concrete construction are available at the German Precast Construction  homepage: the FDB design aid pre[con]2, tender specifications, loadbearing capacity tables, sample drawings for precast parts, type programs, architectural information (structural design solutions combined with matching façade varieties), U-values for sandwich façades, CAD data, and a link to the Design Atlas for Building Construction. These aids are available free of charge for downloading and viewing.
