Innovation: Photoment

Photoment is a concrete admixture with photocatalytic activity. It consists of a combination of flyash particles and different titanium dioxides (TiO2).

On a photocatalytic surface, under the action of sunlight and artificial light, a photocatalytic reaction of the TiO2 is triggered, causing the harmful nitrogen oxides (NO2) from the air to be converted into nitrate (NO3-). The reaction can be repeated as often as desired and is not used up. The photocatalytic reaction, in addition, forms a superhydrophile surface that stays clean longer and is self-cleaning.

The special mix of round flyash...
