New findings on formwork corrosion
Steel formwork/mold corrosion has long been an issue in the precast industry. After the usual demolding times of 8 to 16 hours, the molds and production tables show rust stains that become visible as brown, spotted discolorations on the concrete surfaces, which create a significant disturbance, particularly in areas where architectural concrete is specified. The individual contractors have to invest a lot of time and money to remove the rust stains both from the concrete surfaces and from the forms.
