Replacement covers for durable drainage system

Bircostandard channels are in use in many courtyard entrances as well as in residences and landscaped gardens in Germany – even now nearly 25 years following the stop in production. The channel body, owing to the high concrete grade it is made of, is fully functionable. “Due to the long service life of the concrete body, we still experience continuous demand for the product. It is only the steel covers that show signs of wear after such a long time in service. In order to maintain the excellent quality of the construction material, we offer our customers suitable replacement covers in nominal size 100,” as Marketing Manager Marian Dürrschnabel explains the concept of sustainability.

The combination of optimal drainage performance and simple installation of the grates without bolted connections ensures low investment in terms of cost and time. Birco covers in mesh widths of 30/30 and 30/15, moreover, fit all standard drainage systems (137 mm width, 50 mm height) and are characterized by strong weld seams and hot-dip galvanizing of up to 70 μm. The high-quality metal bars with 2-mm solid steel and protective frame on the edges make the grates suitable for use in load classes from A 15 to B 125.

The colors can be adapted to the wishes of the customer

On request, the covers for the Bircostandard channels can also be provided in various colors. The cathodic dip-paint coating (CDC), carried out in two steps and followed by color coating, is environmentally friendly and ensures maximum protection from corrosion as well as UV resistance. “Provided with a purpose-coated cover in the desired color, Birco channels blend harmonically into any architectural concept and offer moreover even greater resistance to UV radiation, de-icing salt and chloride. Products are offered in bronze, gold as well as the RAL 7016 color anthracite gray, so that it also harmonizes in newbuilds with house and garage doors, blinds, roller shutters etc. in modern colors.
