Shaping your own future
Each of us has to make many minor and sometimes even major decisions every day. That can be gratifying, especially when the decisions directly lead to success – and it may sometimes be rather vexing if subsequent decisions and persistence become necessary. But in every case, it is a good feeling to be in control and to shape your own future. Three examples:
#Shaping your own future 1 – How important and advantageous it is for the success of your own company to have a clear understanding of company strengths and products, of your target groups, and of their requirements – as is shown by the plant report on the German manufacturer Braun-Steine (see p. 38). With systematic product development and brand positioning, Braun-Steine management has been successfully tapping new markets for this medium-sized company for a long time.
#Shaping your own future 2 – A conscious decision against mass business and in favor of a market niche can pay off. This shows the second plant report in this issue about the concrete business Rehburger Beton- und Marmorwerk (see p. 32). This likewise medium-sized company is one of the few specialists in the manufacture of cast stone made from solid concrete blocks.
# Shaping your own future 3 – And, finally, an appeal to our German readers. We may not and do not intend to give any recommendations. But the following appeal is allowed: Cast your vote in the German federal election on 24 September 2017; it is your chance to co-determine economic and construction policy in the country. Every ballot counts. And if the party you prefer should not win, then the party you least favor will not proportionately do quite as well as otherwise. Right?
