Successful third specialized trade show for construction materials testing
In Riedlingen, Germany, a specialized trade show, a specialized conference and a program of lectures for the concrete and construction materials industry has now taken place for the third time. The organizers on 13 March 2018 were the companies Form+Test Seidner, Dr. Jung+Partner, Schleibinger, Ludwig, Haver+Boecker, Kniele, Proceq S. A. and QuaverTec. The event was held as usual in the production and assembly halls of Form+Test Seidner.
As before, interest was great in the total of six technical lectures and the news from the sector of testing machines and equipment, testing, measuring and analysis devices and laboratory and testing software. The number of visitors from Austria, Switzerland and Germany rose to 145.
Equipment demonstrations and current topics
Interested visitors and customers were shown portable testing, measuring and analysis equipment for quality control, site supervision and building inspection as well as innovations and further developments.
The visitors were also familiarized with servo-hydraulic machines for testing stan-dard compressive strengths, flexural tensile strengths and shear strengths on test cubes, test cylinders and concrete, cement, mortar, screed mortar and plasters drill cores. Also explained was the more demanding E-module determination in accordance with EN 12390-13 and/or ISO 1920 – as well as determination of CMOD and/or load deflection on fiber-reinforced concrete as per EN 14651 and/or the DafStb code of practice in connection with ProteusMT construction materials software (Windows 10).
External speakers from universities, materials testing institutes and engineering consulting firms reported on highly topical issues based on practical experience. These included self-compacting concrete (SCC) and digitization – integrated quality in concrete construction and parking structures made of concrete – new and changed standards and codes of practice, fundamentals of determining optimal reinforcement – principles and procedure, Georadar - principles and examples from practice; rheology – the key for processing.
Next show in 2020
Guided tours through the workshops for mechanical production, assemblage, electrical and electronic departments, and the test facility (calibration room) were conducted at regular intervals. In this way, the keenly interested professional visitors were afforded insights into the high added value and flexibility generated by the production shown. Both enable superior precision and testing machines with a long service life, providing customers with the basics for sound and cost-effective investment. On-location service at customers’ sites, installation as well as instructions and training guarantee customers optimal utilization of the testing facility. In addition, DakkS calibrations with for a variable forces of 100 N to 10 MN are offered.
The specialized trade show will from now on be held every other year. The next show is accordingly scheduled for the post-Bauma year 2020.
