The future of building
Information, ideas, exchange of thoughts, deepening and refreshing contacts – participants of the BetonTage 2018 are already looking forward to all of this. For three days, from 20 to 22 February, everything in the Edwin-Scharff-Haus in Neu-Ulm, under the motto “Prefabrication – the Future of Building,” will revolve around topics of particular interest to the German and European precast concrete industry (see p. 52). The conference program will cover current challenges, to include creation of modern infrastructure, new markets, developments such as bridges and park deck systems made of ultra-high-strength fiber-reinforced concrete, as well as topics to arise in the near future: for example, building information modelling (BIM) and carbon concrete.
But the outstanding choice of topics is not the only reason for the continually rising number of visitors, a highly satisfying development for the BetonTage: in 2017, the attendance mark of more than 2,000 visitors was exceeded for the first time. Another reason for the success of the event is that it brings together nearly all specialists who build with precast elements – where scientists and researchers meet manufacturers, industry suppliers, and planners.
Your technical journal BFT International, as the exclusive media partner, will be present at the BetonTage. We invite you to the BFT Café in the entrance area of the supplier industry exhibition, in the Edwin-Scharff-Haus. There, over a cup of coffee, you can meet colleagues from the industry in a relaxed atmosphere or, if you like, for a chance to talk with us, the BFT editorial staff, who would be pleased to see you. At a terminal you can get to know the BFT App, which supplements the articles in the BFT issues with videos, photo galleries, and additional links. And we will, of course, once again, keep the latest issues of BFT International, DBZ (Deutsche Bauzeitschrift), and Bauwelt free of charge and ready for you.
We look forward to meeting you at the BetonTage 2018 in Neu-Ulm.
