VBF Nord continues to sail in safe waters
VBF Nord held its 83rd ordinary general meeting on 23 June in Bremen, Germany. Its President, Dr. Eike Bielak, and its Managing Director, Dr. Jens Uwe Pott, welcomed the participants and guests on board the Weser passenger vessel Ship No. 2. The Executive Board and Company Management reported on the development of the association as well as on its activities in the past business year. The latter had been primarily determined by the new Construction Products Directive and the problems arising from it.
Dr. Bielak and Dr. Pott gave a brief outlook on future association work. VBF Nord is seeking collaboration with the association of the construction industry of Lower Saxony-Bremen, as of 1 September 2017, in order to be able to support its members still more effectively in problems arising from labor law.
Members’ meeting
The 2017 elections of the Chairman and the Social-Political Committee (in 2017), among others, were regularly recurrent on the agenda. Dr. Eike Bielak was unanimously reelected as President. Christov Plötner and Andreas Schmale were also unanimously confirmed in their offices as vice presidents, as were Christof Rekers, as member of the Executive Board. Christoph Carouge (H+H Deutschland GmbH) and Norwin Stärker (Betonwaren GmbH) were newly elected to the Executive Board. Frank Dürkop, Manfred Lippert, and Dr. Klaus Stärker were no longer available for reelection.
The following were elected and/or reelected to the Sociopolitical Committee: Klaus Bartram, Dr. Eike Bielak, Christoph Carouge, Eberhard Dold, Christoph Döpke, Detlef Eydam, Susanne Michaelis, Christov Plötner, and Christof Rekers.
Positive development
In the course of the General Meeting, the President reported on the development of the construction industry in the past year and the economic forecasts for the current year 2017. The General Meeting of VBF Nord unanimously approved the annual accounts and the proposed budget, as well as the regulation of membership dues for 2017, and granted formal approval of the Executive Board.
The next General Meeting is planned to take place on 15 June 2018 in Lübeck, Germany.
