Concrete supply agreements entered into with large construction contractors usually include the following (or similarly worded) sentence:

“The contractually agreed compressive strength class is verified for the test specimens produced on the construction site.” This is what the parties had also effectively agreed upon in the present case.

Very soft concretes pose the risk of segregation in the event of excessive compaction, which is why such concretes may only be subjected to gentle vibration or rodding.
