Innov.: PhoneStrip centering strips in concrete construction
The second article in this innovation block comes from Wolf Bavaria GmbH.
The PhoneStrip centering strip in concrete construction is a highly load-transferring decoupling layer for traditional solid construction. The PhoneStrip can absorb deformations (deflections) occurring on floor slabs that are dangerous for the masonry.
Product description
PhoneStrip – as unreinforced component layer – consists of an environmentally-friendly corrugated cardboard body filled with compacted Quartz sand, thus featuring a high load-bearing capacity at a characteristic compressive strength of fc,kw of 23.0 N/mm². In the edge zone, the cardboard body allows deformations of up to 4 mm. The PhoneStrip decoupling layer is available in a thickness of 15 mm.
PhoneStrip decoupling strips are CE-certified (ETA 20-0371) and bear the QNG-ready seal granted by the Sentinel Haus Institute.
Properties
High load-bearing capacity,
Allows deformations in the critical edge zone without any problems,
Prevents an excentric load transfer into the wall, hence, no spalling of the plaster layer,
Sound-insulating effect,
No additional bituminous sheeting required.
